# arp242 (Martin Tournoij)

Martin Tournoij, online as **arp242**. Open-source developer behind a number of small infrastructure tools and the primary maintainer of [[fsnotify]]. Personal site: <https://www.arp242.net/>.

Tracked here for the May 2026 [[fsnotify]] dispute (see [[fsnotify-maintainer-dispute]]). The relevant facts for that incident: project had historically handed out commit rights broadly; arp242's position was that those accounts were not "maintainers" in any meaningful current sense. Removed access to [[mattn]] over rushed merges across fsnotify's many platforms and a direct-to-main `FUNDING.yml` change made early in the new work. Pushed back publicly on framings of the change as "hostile takeover," pointing observers to the commit history.
