# James Bennett

James Bennett is a longtime Django core contributor and Python developer. He blogs at [b-list.org](https://www.b-list.org/), which has been running since the early 2000s and focuses on Python, Django, and software engineering more broadly. Bennett has a philosophy degree and a low tolerance for unfalsifiable hype, which shows up in his writing — he engages primary sources, quotes his opponents' best evidence, and is willing to spend 6,000 words on a single argument if that's what the argument needs.

Bennett is a careful LLM skeptic rather than a categorical opponent. He distinguishes between "LLMs are useless" (which he doesn't claim) and "LLMs are revolutionary" (which he argues against on both theoretical and empirical grounds).
