# Sean Goedecke's Blog

Sean Goedecke is a staff engineer at GitHub (previously Zendesk) writing at [seangoedecke.com](https://www.seangoedecke.com/). His posts split between two strands:

- **Inside-view career and craft writing.** What it's like to ship features people complain about, how individual-engineer agency really works at scale, what staff-engineer work looks like at large companies.
- **LLM and interpretability writing.** Steering vectors, AI safety framings, philosophy-of-mind angles on interpretability, observations on how local-model tooling is shifting.

Style: short, opinionated, first-person, comfortable saying "I think" and "I'm skeptical." Frames topics in terms of who actually pays attention to them — "labs vs users vs the middle class" framing recurs. Often footnotes a counterpoint or a personal disclaimer rather than dropping it in-line.
