# Thomas Depierre (Musings about software)

Thomas Depierre's blog "Musings about software" at softwaremaxims.com. An Elixir and DevOps consultant who argues from empirical software-engineering research rather than anecdote, and applies the same lens to LLM coding tools. Best known outside this vault for the 2024 "I am not a supplier" post on open-source maintainer obligations written in the wake of the xz backdoor (see [[xz-utils-incident]]).

His LLM skepticism is the falsifiable, evidence-anchored kind — he states what data would change his mind — which places him in the engineering/craft slot of [[anti-llm-discourse]] rather than the rhetorical-refusal one.
